Steadfast Capital and IHG are set to unveil their dual-branded hotel project in Melbourne in the third quarter of this year, with the opening of Hotel Indigo Melbourne Little Collins and Holiday Inn Melbourne Bourke Street Mall.
Eight years in the making, the project, led by global design studio Buchan and construction firm Hickory, aims to inject new life into the Bourke Street Mall precinct and transform its surrounding laneways.

“This project has been an opportunity to reimagine the way hotels activate the city,” said Hotel Indigo Melbourne Little Collins and Holiday Inn Melbourne Bourke Street Mall General Manager, Scott Hamilton.
“By building upon heritage and layering in art, laneway references and design – the result is something that feels authentically Melbourne.
“This is more than just two hotels, it is a new chapter for Melbourne’s city centre – one that reflects where the city is heading and celebrates where it’s come from.”

The two hotels will feature their own distinct style, blending modern design with Melbourne’s rich cultural heritage, rising 10 storeys behind the historic Art Deco facades of iconic buildings, Diamond House, Public Benefit Bootery, Allan’s, and the York Building.
Hotel Indigo Melbourne Little Collins will feature signature Mondrian Blue tones throughout – a nod to Melbourne’s blue street signs – while its 179 rooms will reflect Melbourne’s laneways and streets, with map-like artwork adorning the walls.
Levels two through five will be connected by a spiral staircase and a cathedral-like atrium space will feature a three-storey ‘cabinet of curiosities’ artwork by Melbourne-based muralist and figurative painter Lisa King.

The family-friendly Holiday Inn Melbourne Bourke Street Mall will feature 273 guest rooms including four double-double room types. The hotel will feature a clean Scandinavian aesthetic of blonde wood and greenery with modern artworks inspired by Melbourne’s monuments and its city skyline.
The hotel will feature a state-of-the-art gym, all-day restaurant, and 220 square metre private terrace event space.
