Minor Hotels Australasia has arrived in Auckland with the Oaks Auckland Hotel, following the recent signing of a long-term Management Agreement with Mulpha International to rebrand Nesuto Stadium Hotel and Apartments.
Positioned minutes away from Spark Arena, Britomart Transport Centre, top shopping precincts and the Auckland Waterfront, the 244-key hotel, will welcome guests looking to experience downtown Auckland’s vibrant culture.
“Oaks Auckland Hotel marks an exciting milestone for our brand and reinforces Minor Hotels’ ongoing commitment to strategic growth in Australasia,” said Craig Hooley, Chief Operating Officer for Minor Hotels Australasia.
“As Oaks continues its evolution to a lifestyle-focused offering, we’re proud to introduce a property that will deliver an exceptional guest experience that reflects this and the unique spirit of Auckland. Through our connections with Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei and the wider local community, we aim to create guest experiences that honour the cultural significance of Te Tōangaroa and this special place.”
“We’re thrilled to embark on this long-term partnership with Minor Hotels,” said Greg Shaw, Chief Executive Officer of Mulpha International. “Working with a trusted operator like Minor Hotels ensures we can deliver exceptional experiences and long-term value in one of the region’s most exciting urban locations.”
The property, which received a $13 million refurbishment in 2020, will offer a choice of modern hotel rooms, studios, and one and two-bedroom self-contained apartments, thoughtfully designed to meet the needs for short and longer corporate and leisure stays.
Grass-fed Scotch Fillet
The hotel’s food and beverage offering has been refreshed, with all-day dining venue DASH offering guests breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a-la-carte menus loaded with freshly made classics. From must-haves like the ‘Oaks’ Style fried buttermilk chicken served with shoestring chips, house-made slaw and signature pickle dressing, to prime proteins like the pan seared, 250g grass-fed scotch fillet from New Zealand Silver Fern Farms, served with red wine jus and fries.

Bringing to life one of the key Oaks service hallmarks, the lobby space is set to become an integrated, inviting co-working space. Barista-made coffee from DASH, including Auckland’s best flat white, will be served alongside the iconic Oaks lamington, a sweet moment designed to welcome each guest. A curated grab-and-go pantry will offer guests bespoke everyday essentials for the day ahead, whether that’s a reusable coffee cup for the morning brew, or some fresh produce to keep guests fuelled throughout the day. All elements of the guest experience will be driven by exceptional service.
Sunset Spot
“All properties within the Minor Hotels portfolio are guided by our commitment to delivering world-class hospitality. At Oaks Auckland Hotel and every Oaks Hotel, Resort & Suite, it’s our people that make the guests experience. From a warm, genuine welcome to recommendations for the best local spot to catch the sunrise, our team helps guests find joy in the everyday,” said Craig Hooley.
With wellness central, a new fitness centre will also be developed, along with working with the local community to launch activities like a local run club, taking advantage of the hotel’s proximity to the scenic Tamaki Drive.
This latest addition to the Oaks Hotels, Resorts & Suites portfolio reflects Minor Hotels’ strong pipeline of growth across the region, following the successful opening of several properties across Australia in 2025 including Oaks Lake Crackenback Resort and Queen’s Wharf Residences.
