IHG Hotels & Resorts has been officially certified as a Great Place to Work® across Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu – a milestone that not only recognises outstanding workplace culture but directly supports hotel performance and profitability.
With 85% of colleagues across the region agreeing that IHG is a great place to work – far exceeding the industry average of 60% – the certification reflects a strong culture where team members feel welcome, safe, and proud to be part of the IHG family. Fiji (94%), Vanuatu (93%), and PNG (89%) led the results, while Australia and New Zealand also showed strong engagement at 83% and 77% respectively.
For hotel owners, this matters. In today’s competitive talent landscape, being recognised as a Great Place to Work is a clear advantage. It helps attract and retain high-performing team members, the people who drive memorable guest experiences, smooth operations, and strong financial returns. Happy teams deliver better service, and better service means more satisfied guests and higher repeat business.
The Great Place to Work Certification process is independent and rigorous, based on direct feedback from employees. This year’s results unlock eligibility for IHG to be named among Australia and New Zealand’s Best Places to Work, with rankings to be announced next month.
Great hotels are built on great teams and IHG is proud to be leading the way.
