Tourism leaders from across New Zealand are gathering today at the Tākina Wellington Convention and Exhibition Centre for Tourism Summit Aotearoa 2025.
Centred on the theme ‘New Zealand Tourism 2030: Being Dynamic in a Global Marketplace‘, the 300 delegate-strong summit, hosted by Tourism Industry Aotearoa (TIA), aims to provide a full day of insights into exploring how the industry can adapt and thrive in a fast-changing world.
TIA Chief Executive, Rebecca Ingram says: “The summit is an important annual opportunity for the industry to come together, to share knowledge and consider how New Zealand tourism continues to adapt and respond to unprecedented external pressures.”
Global Economic Conditions & AI
Ingram says this year’s programme features a strong line up of engaging speakers and thought leaders from across business, geopolitics, marketing, and technology. Highlights include sessions exploring global economic conditions and their travel impacts, understanding the role of Tik Tok in travel decision making, diving into cyber-risk and the role of artificial intelligence in the future of tourism.
TIA’s recent member Workforce Survey shows that business confidence has increased significantly, with 86% of tourism organisations feeling confident about the year ahead, up 11% on 2024 results.
NZ Tourism Awards
TIA Chief Executive Rebecca Ingram says, “It is incredibly positive that optimism is high across the tourism industry as we head into the summer season, especially given how tough it is out there for businesses at the moment.”
The event will conclude this evening (October 29), with the New Zealand Tourism Awards, to celebrate the people, places and businesses leading the way in tourism. For further information visit: Tourism Summit Aotearoa – TIA.
