Twenty-five years on from the 2000 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Novotel and Ibis hotels at Sydney Olympic Park continue to thrive with the neighbouring Accor Stadium drawing more than 35 million visitors in the years since.

The 177-room Novotel Sydney Olympic Park and 150-room Ibis Sydney Olympic Park opened in 2000 to accommodate athletes, officials and spectators.

In 2008, Pullman and Ibis Budget hotels were added to the Sydney Olympic Park precinct, adding 218 and 156 guest rooms respectively.

All four hotels – which offering both affordable and premium accommodation options – continue to yield high occupancy rates when the stadium plays host to major sporting and entertainment events, such as Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour and the record-breaking British and Irish Lions tour, as well as major conferences and community events.

“As Sydney reflects on the 25-year legacy of the Games, Novotel and Ibis Sydney Olympic Park remain more than hotels – they are living landmarks of a moment when Sydney captured the world’s attention,” said Accor Chief Operating Officer in the Pacific region, Adrian Williams.

“Together with the Pullman and Ibis budget, our hotels continue to welcome hundreds of thousands of guests each year, keeping the spirit of Sydney 2000 well and truly alive.”

As naming rights partner of Accor Stadium, Accor offers ALL Accor loyalty members further benefits that extend beyond accommodation, including access to memorable concerts and experiences.

On Monday September 15, to coincide with the 25-year anniversary of the Sydney 2000 Opening Ceremony, Accor Stadium unveiled the inaugural inductees to its Hall of Fame, honouring eleven sporting legends including Ian Thorpe and Cathy Freeman.

“Accor Stadium has been home to Australia’s greatest sporting moments and the inaugural Hall of Fame was a fitting way to celebrate the people, athletes and fans that make our Olympic Stadium so special,” said Venues NSW and Accor Stadium Chief Executive Officer, Kerrie Mather.
