A FJ$50,000 donation from Club Wyndham Denarau Island has funded a refurbishment project to upgrade washroom facilities at Nadi Hospital.
The recently concluded refurbishment of the men’s ward washroom, aimed at enhancing hygiene and accessibility for patients and staff, was supported by fundraising efforts of the resort philanthropic arm, Mai Yaloda, and donations from Club Wyndham South Pacific members.
The project involved the construction of new partitions and interior walls, new plumbing installed, soundproofing added to cubicles and toilets, and the creation of accessible washrooms for wheelchair users.
The washroom was rewired for new lighting and both internal and external structural walls were painted to deliver a modern, clean and welcoming environment.
“This refurbishment is more than just an upgrade—it’s an important step toward creating a safer and more hygienic environment for patients and their families,” said Club Wyndham Denarau Island General Manager, William Work.
“By improving facilities and accessibility, we are supporting better hygiene practices, which are crucial in preventing the spread of infections within the healthcare facilities.
The handover ceremony for the upgraded men’s ward washroom was attended by representatives from Club Wyndham Denarau Island, Assistant Minister for Health and Medical Services, Honourable Penioni Ravunawa, and Nadi Hospital staff members.
The latest project follows an earlier donation by Club Wyndham Denarau Island to supply a vital signs monitor to the hospital.
