Regent’s University London has collaborated with industry heavyweights The Savoy, The Peninsula London and Hotel Café Royal to launch a ground breaking new BA (Hons) Luxury Hospitality Management degree to address the widening skills gap threatening the luxury hospitality industry.

The unique three-year course, also open to international students*, aims to revolutionise luxury hospitality education by providing students with unprecedented hands-on experience at some of the world’s most iconic hotels and direct access to industry leaders from day one.

Pipeline Of Talent

In a sector where investment is surging and demand for skilled professionals is at an all-time high, the course has been designed to help ensure a stable pipeline of talent for sustained excellence in the luxury hospitality industry.

“Hospitality requires new courses based on the actual needs of the profession” says Franck Arnold, Managing Director and Regional Vice President at The Savoy. “Regent’s University London is tackling this educational gap by collaborating with us to create a course that directly addresses the real-world demands of luxury hospitality. That is very different!’

Investment In The Future

This sentiment is echoed by Rolf Buehlmann, Managing Director at The Peninsula London, who highlights the importance of long-term thinking in luxury hospitality, “Luxury hospitality is built on enduring values and a commitment to excellence. This partnership with Regent’s University London is a strategic investment in the future. It isn’t just about training students but cultivating the next generation of leaders who will uphold and elevate our standards for decades to come.”

The Regent’s Model immerses undergraduate students in every facet of the industry, from operations and accounting to marketing and guest experience. Crucially, the course offers students the unique opportunity to spend two days a week working within their chosen partner hotel from day one, allowing them to gain invaluable hands-on experience and build vital industry relationships.

Practical Component

This practical component directly addresses a key challenge highlighted by Eugene Leonard, General Manager at Hotel Café Royal, “To truly understand the culture of hotels and to develop a passion for delivering exceptional hospitality, you must gain experience working in it firsthand. Graduates with hands-on experience are highly valued and this course bridges that gap. Providing students with the practical skills and real-world exposure needed to excel in the luxury hospitality sector and ultimately shape the future of the industry”

The course’s structure reflects a broader industry-wide need for talent armed with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Adam Frost, Director and Course Leader for the BA (Hons) Luxury Hospitality Management course, explains, “Luxury hospitality brands are hungry for young, fresh, new talent that will define the voice of the industry for years to come. We’ve listened to the industry’s call for a radical shift in hospitality education.

Hands On Immersive Learning

“The Regent’s difference lies in our unwavering commitment to hands-on, immersive learning from day one. Our course is a strategic partnership with London’s most iconic hotels to ensure our graduates don’t just understand luxury hospitality, they live it. They’ll leave with more than just a degree, but with a portfolio of real-world experience and a network of industry leaders, setting them on a fast track to management success. This is the future of luxury hospitality education, and it’s happening at Regent’s.”

To accompany its new BA, Regent’s University London will introduce an MA Luxury Hospitality Management course. Launching September 2025, this two-year programme is designed specifically for those already working in the industry who may not have a bachelor’s degree. Taught in six intensive one-week residential sprints to fit around working schedules, graduates will finish the course equipped with the additional skills they need to step into a leadership role or elevate their own businesses.
