Intrepid Travel pilots global day of impact across its offices worldwide

Intrepid Travel organised a day-long first-ever ‘Intrepid Day’ celebration of impact, a new concept aimed at rallying its staff, travellers and partners around the positive impact of travel in communities across the world.

Organised for the first time in 2025, ‘Intrepid Day’ puts the spotlight on Intrepid’s mission to create positive change through the joy of travel by bringing Intrepid people together to connect, inspire and share experiences of using travel as a force for good.

Marked on 24th July, the date signifies the company’s global reach and impact throughout the world across every hour of every day (24/7). Intrepid Day is set to become an annual celebration, reinforcing Intrepid Travel’s ambition to lead with purpose and grow its impact globally. A range of flagship community engagement initiatives were activated in its key regions – London, New Delhi, Toronto and Melbourne – with local activities and employee celebrations held across 31 Intrepid country offices.

Highlights of Intrepid Day at India included:

Honouring community & culture: Connecting with seniors at Arya Mahila Ashram

The day commenced with a moving visit to Arya Mahila Ashram, an old age home in Delhi, where Intrepid staff and tour leaders spent time connecting with senior women through conversation, shared laughter, and companionship. This initiative highlighted the often-overlooked issue of loneliness and isolation among the elderly, bringing warmth and dignity to those who paved the way for generations to come.

The Intrepid Amazing Race

Next, the energy soared with the Intrepid Amazing Race, a creatively designed Delhi city tour challenge. Five enthusiastic teams navigated Delhi’s bustling streets, solving clues and completing fun mini tasks at key cultural and historical landmarks. The experience showcased teamwork, discovery, and the city’s vibrant spirit in equal measure.

Leading with purpose: Conscious travel in action

True to Intrepid’ s ethos of responsible travel, the Share in the Uncommon – One Trip One Tree (1T1T) initiative saw guests and tour leaders planting trees to bolster local green cover. A total of 10 native trees were planted across six locations – Pushkar, Ranthambore, Varanasi, Lotwara, Chitwan, and Kathmandu. While modest in number, these plantings are rooted in long-term impact. Each native tree contributes to restoring local biodiversity, improving soil quality, reducing carbon footprint, and creating green spaces that support wildlife and communities alike. In tandem, branded reusable glass bottles were distributed to hotel suppliers, an effective step toward eliminating single use plastics in accommodations.

Triple the support, triple the impact: A win for marine conservation

The celebration culminated in an extraordinary fundraising success. Aiming to raise AUD 1,800 for The Intrepid Foundation Partner – Positive Change for Marine Life, the Indian Intrepid community rallied together – staff, tour leaders, customers, and suppliers to raise over AUD 5,400. With Intrepid tripling all contributions, the total impact will significantly advance marine conservation initiatives in Kovalam, Kerela.

All activities were aimed at creating a collective sense of pride in Intrepid’s mission and purpose, celebrating the community Intrepid has built through authentic connections and the cultural diversity of our global community.

Globally, the Intrepid Foundation tripled all donations made on the day to its 50+ partners, while free day tours were offered to travellers who booked directly via the Urban Adventures website for trips departing 26 July to 31 December 2025.
