Sofitel appoints Commercial Director at Sydney hotel
Tracey Carter Knox has been promoted to the role of Commercial Director at Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour.
As the hotel’s Director of Revenue for the past two years, Carter Knox is credited with delivering a strong commercial performance based on a deep understanding of revenue strategy and market dynamics, driving top-line growth through strategic planning, commercial alignment, and a results-oriented approach.
“Tracey has held her role as Director of Revenue at Sofitel Darling Harbour for the last two years and her performance has shown her capability to lead the hotel’s commercial function at a senior level, ensuring we remain competitive and agile in a fast-moving market,” said Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour General Manager, Sam Panetta.
“Tracey’s promotion is a reflection of her proven track record and the confidence we have in her ability to continue delivering strong business outcomes”.
Carter Knox has more than 30 years’ experience in the industry, including six years with Accor, and having worked across such portfolios as IHG, Star Entertainment Group and BE Sydney.
Novotel Sydney Cabramatta names two key leaders
Novotel Sydney Cabramatta, operated by Signature Hotel Management Group, has announced two key leaders ahead of its November opening.
Leading the hotel as General Manager is Sam Fakih, who brings more than 23 years of hospitality experience and a deep understanding of the local market
Fakih has held leadership positions at IHG-branded hotels, most recently as Cluster General Manager for Crowne Plaza Burwood and Holiday Inn and Suites Parramatta Marsden Street.
Alongside Fakih, Anthony Hoanghas been appointed Director of Sales. Hoangbrings over 25 years of experience in hospitality sales and marketing and a proven ability to drive revenue and build strong partnerships.
Throughout his career, Hoang has held senior roles at renowned hotel groups including InterContinental Sun Peninsula Resort, Holiday Inn Parramatta, Stamford Plaza Brisbane, Eastin Grand Hotel, Hanoi Hotel, Paddington Hotel Halong Bayview and Merperle Hotels and Resorts.

General Manager appointed at Millennium Hotel Queenstown
Experienced hotelier Ken Orr takes up the role of General Manager at Millennium Hotel Queenstown.
Orr has worked for Millennium and Copthorne Hotels New Zealand for over 20 years, having held various managerial and operational positions in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown.
In June, he stepped down from his role as Vice President of Operations to relocate to the South Island.
“It’s great to be back in my spiritual home. My first experience working with Millennium Hotels and Resorts was at the hotel 29 years ago, so it’s great to come full circle and live and work in such a superb part of New Zealand,” he said.
“I’m looking forward to activating the hotel with our conferencing and group market and enjoying some of the best golf in the world in Queenstown.”
Millennium Hotel Queenstown is soon set to unveil a refurbishment of its 220 rooms, including 15 suites.
“Ken is exactly the right person to lead Millennium Hotel Queenstown into this exciting new chapter,” said Millennium and Copthorne Hotels New Zealand, Vice President Sales and Partnerships, Melanie Beattie.

The St. Regis Singapore welcomes new GM
The St. Regis Singapore has welcomed Nick Heath as General Manager, effective 1 July 2025.
Heath’s almost 30-year hotel career has taken him across Asia, the Middle East, and the United States, beginning with leadership roles in Hyatt before joining Marriott International in 2007.
He joins The St. Regis Singapore from JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach, where he most recently served as General Manager, leading the team in enhancing operational excellence and curating distinctive guest experiences.
Throughout his career, Heath has overseen iconic properties including W Seoul – Walkerhill, W Bangkok, Sheraton Grande Doha Resort & Convention Hotel, and The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal.
