Pier One Sydney Harbour announces finance and HR appointments
Pier One Sydney Harbour Marriott Autograph Collection has announced two appointments across finance and human resources.
Isabel Passicot has been promoted to Multi-Property Director of Human Resources, supporting Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park and Pier One Sydney Harbour. Passicot brings more than 20 years of experience in Human Resources, including seven years with Marriott.
“Her diverse background across hotels and clubs enables her to tailor HR strategies that support business goals and elevate associate engagement. Isabel is known for fostering a culture of development and inclusion, helping associates build meaningful careers within Marriott,” a representative for the hotel told HM.
Konrad Baran joins Pier One Sydney Harbour Marriott Autograph Collection as Director of Finance.
Baran has relocated to Australia, bringing a decade of experience in hospitality financial management across the UK and Seychelles.
Having started his career in accounting, Baran quickly transitioned into hotel finance with Marriott, where he advanced from Finance Assistant to Director of Finance within few years.
At Laila Resort and Spa Marriott Tribute Portfolio in Seychelles, he played a pivotal role in the hotel’s pre-opening, creating policies, leading financial strategy, and delivering significant cost savings through smart system implementations and negotiations.
“His leadership has consistently produced high-performing finance teams, improved compliance standards, and secured strong stakeholder trust,” a hotel representative said.
“Konrad combines technical expertise with a collaborative leadership style.”

Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay welcomes senior leadership
Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort and Spa has appointed five senior leaders across its operations.
Regina Wilson has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing, tasked with driving business growth and promoting the resort as a premier destination in Fiji.
Wilson brings over three decades of hospitality leadership experience from Australia, Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan and Fiji, including at Marriott International Fiji and Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay.
Anand Ravi takes up the role of Director of Food and Beverage, leading the resort’s food and beverage strategy to elevate dining and event experiences.
Ravi has worked in hospitality for more than 24 years, bringing extensive experience in culinary operations and management from senior leadership roles with Marriott, Accor Hotels, and J.P. Morgan Chase and Co.
Seasoned event management professional Amlesh Kumar is the new Director of Events Planning, overseeing all events at the resort, and launching the new convention centre and ballroom in November.
Ajit Mishra joins Crowne Plaza Fiji as Rooms Division Manager, bringing a strong background in hotel operations and guest services to manage front office, housekeeping, and guest relations teams.
Chief Engineer Shankar Makam will be responsible for the maintenance and technical operations of the resort. He brings over a decade of expertise in engineering and facilities management within the hospitality sector, having previously worked at The Indian Hotels Company and ITC Hotels.

Tourism Fiji appoints new CEO
The Tourism Fiji Board has appointed Dr. Paresh Pant as the organisation’s new Chief Executive Officer.
Pant, who takes up the role in mid-October, brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in tourism, hospitality, and aviation across Fiji, Australia, and New Zealand.
He has held previous roles with Tourism Fiji, including Regional Director positions in New Zealand and Australia, where he spearheaded major visitor growth and crisis recovery strategies.
“We are delighted to welcome Dr. Pant back to Tourism Fiji at a pivotal time for the industry,” said Tourism Fiji Board Chair, Ilisapeci Matatolu.
“His proven record of driving growth in key markets, combined with his deep understanding of Fiji’s tourism landscape, made him the clear choice for this role.
“He not only brings a wealth of global experience but also a genuine passion for Fiji and its people. The Board looks forward to working with him to strengthen Fiji’s brand globally, grow sustainable visitor numbers, and ensure our communities benefit from the tourism sector.”
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation, Honourable Viliame Gavoka also welcomed Pant’s appointment.
“On behalf of the Fiji Government, we welcome Dr. Pant as the new Chief Executive Officer of Tourism Fiji,” Minister Gavoka said.
“This appointment comes at a crucial time for the industry, as we chart a course towards long-term growth. I am confident Dr. Pant will bring in strategic leadership and vision to further strengthen Fiji’s global brand while supporting a more resilient and competitive tourism industry.”
Pant said he is “honoured to be entrusted with this role at a time when Fiji continues to shine as one of the world’s premier tourism destinations”.
