Mandala Hotels and Resorts has acquired 20-hectare Moreton Bay retreat, Mercure Clear Mountain, expanding its portfolio to an asset base exceeding $250 million, with more than 30 locations and over 2,000 keys across Australia.
Mandala intends to transform the property into a world-class luxury retreat under a premium hospitality brand, which will mark its debut in Brisbane.

“This acquisition represents more than growth – it embodies our vision to curate a destination that reflects the natural majesty of the Moreton Bay region,” said Mandala Hotels and Resorts Principal, Ryan Shaw.
Following the transformation, the property is expected to be a leading destination for weddings, leisure, and tourism, featuring elevated suites, purpose-built reception venues, corporate event facilities, a resort-style pool, and a signature restaurant and bar with views of the Moreton Bay hinterland.

Mandala has appointed seasoned hospitality executive Geoff Clark as General Manager, to lead the transformation.
Clark brings over 30 years of luxury resort experience across the Maldives, Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, and Australia, most recently heading operations at Avani+ Fares Maldives.

“Returning to Queensland to guide Mercure Clear Mountain into its next chapter is an honour,” said Clark.
“I look forward to establishing it as a benchmark for leisure escapes, weddings, and executive retreats.”
