Travel and Leisure Co. is set to undertake a multi-million-dollar refurbishment of Club Wyndham Mission Beach following its recent acquisition.

The beachfront property, formerly Castaways Resort and Spa Mission Beach, will be refurbished in line with the Club Wyndham South Pacific vacation club portfolio.

All 48 studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and loft-style apartments will be refreshed, while common areas including the reception area, internal corridors, and gym will also be repainted and renovated.

“We are not just refurbishing a resort, but elevating the guest experience,” said Travel + Leisure Co. Senior Vice President Operations, Warren Cullum,

“This is a long-term investment in the future of Mission Beach, made on behalf of our close to 60,000 vacation owners, to ensure they enjoy the highest standards of comfort in one of the most stunning locations in the world.”

Mel Porter Design is leading the transformation, introducing a fresh design inspired by the natural surrounds, from the Great Barrier Reef to nearby Dunk Island, and the ancient UNESCO-listed Wet Tropics rainforest.

The new look will feature soft sandy textures, light timber finishes and tones of aquamarine tones, coral and crisp white.

“We’re embracing the soul of this spectacular destination,” said Founder and Creative Director, Mel Porter.

“From the reef’s radiant blues to the warm orange corals and turquoise waters, our goal is to mirror the natural richness of Mission Beach in every space. Think flowing clean lines, natural materials, and spaces that breathe, offering guests a sensory escape from the everyday.”

The property upgrade comes alongside a AU$19 million Mission Beach Town Centre Revitalisation Project designed to establish the community as a coveted coastal retreat.

The resort will remain open and operating throughout the renovation.
