Walt Disney World has announced new & updated entertainment for the 2025 Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, along with the merchandise at Magic Kingdom for the spook season special event. This post covers what’s coming to the 2025 MNSSHP in Storybook Circus and Tomorrowland, with some quick thoughts.
Fair warning: not much changes about MNSSHP from year to year. If you’re planning on attending the 2025 Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party and last did the event in 2019, it’s still going to about 90% the same. The biggest difference you’ll (hopefully) notice is lower crowds, as Walt Disney World has lowered the cap since then. (That’s a double-edged sword, as lower limits mean faster sellouts and demand-driven higher prices.)
Honestly, we thought Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party was getting stale back in 2019, and with no material changes in the last 6 years, that sentiment has only grown stronger. What’ll be different in 2025 is mostly minor and easy to miss. Mickey’s Boo to You Parade, Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, and the Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular are all returning for the 2025 MNSSHP. There might be tweaks to the parade units, costumes, or characters represented, but the 2025 entertainment lineup will be materially the same as it was in 2019.
Nevertheless, there are changes for the 2025 Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. That’s where this post comes into play–so you know what has changed (since several of these things are unadvertised) and how to plan accordingly. Focusing on the new stuff so it manages to be Mickey’s Not-So-Stale Halloween Party for you (at least, to the greatest extent possible).
With that said, if you’re a first-timer or attending Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party after a decade-long absence, this post is not your best or singular resource. On that note, let’s turn to what’s new & changed at the 2025 Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party…
Zom-Beatz Bash Dance Party
Taking place at Rocket Tower Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland, Zom-Beatz Bash invites guests to dance the night away – the fright way! New this year, experience special surprises inspired by the new Disney film, “Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires” along with haunting DJ tunes and bone-chilling performers, who are sure to bring the ghouls out … with your help.
Although I’m a huge fan of zombies and vampires–Resident Evil is my all-time favorite video game series, and I really enjoyed Sinners and Nosferatu–I have no clue what “Dawn of the Vampires” is. Well, I guess I know it’s a Disney Original Movie and the fourth installment of the movie series. But I haven’t the slightest inkling as to what that’s about.
Zombies, vampires (and the dawn thereof), dancing and teen angst, probably? Frankly, it does strike me as a bit desperate that Disney would need to add vampires to a series about zombies, as they’re usually two distinct things. But I get it–vampires are all the rage right now. Perhaps this is like Alien vs. Predator, a movie that combined two awesome things and made something awful.
Joking aside, there’s a dance party like this at Rocket Tower Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland every year during MNSSHP. Advertising this as something new strikes me as a stretch. If you liked the one last year or the year before, you’ll like this. If you didn’t, you probably won’t. Adding fake vampires is unlikely to move the needle.
Halloween at Storybook Circus
During the 2025 Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, guests can also visit the silliest circus around! Storybook Circus will have everything mortals may need to get in the spirit of the season. At the entrance, make sure to stop by and see Pluto, then head over to Pete’s Silly Sideshow to meet Daisy and Goofy dressed in their Halloween attire.
The circus party continues with DJ Ringmaster, who will play eerie-sistible beats and lights up the night for all to enjoy. To top it all off, two treat spots will be located near the Fantasyland Train Station and the Dumbo the Flying Elephant attraction – perfect for grabbing some ghostly goodies to fuel the fun!
We hope there’s a bit more to this. Last year’s changes to Storybook Circus during MNSSHP were a serious downgrade. All of the characters were consolidated inside Pete’s Silly Sideshow where the Seven Dwarfs used to meet, leading to long lines, fewer meet & greets and the total character count reduced by 7.
Walt Disney World really needs to make more of an effort with the meet & greets back here, especially since long lines for characters are one of the problem points of MNSSHP. I’d be fine with more free roaming or dance party characters, as opposed to traditional meet & greets. Those are more efficient means of seeing and taking selfies with characters.
Regardless, we’re cautiously optimistic about Halloween at Storybook Circus. The biggest addition for last year’s Christmas party was Santa’s Christmas Carnival at Storybook Circus. It was filled with decorations and lights, Christmas cheer, friends from the North Pole, and activities for kids. This included stilt walkers and my personal favorite, the bootleg Coca-Cola polar bears. If they can pull off an atmosphere like this, it’ll be a win for MNSSHP.
Other New Stuff for 2025 MNSSHP?
Villains Treat Trails – During last year’s Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, Princess Fairytale Hall was not a meet & greet location for the princesses. Instead, it was an enhanced treat trail that features two villains, Maleficent and the Evil Queen. These villains were in the queue in front of a portrait of their tale’s princess, as they mingle with guests and pose for selfies.
Walt Disney World has announced this for 2025: “This year, guests can expect even more fun than ever before with some familiar (and fiendish) faces surprising guests along the trails.” Our expectation is that Walt Disney World will expand the villainous treat trails for 2025, and make this the marketable new addition. Having at least a few villainous treat trails would be a huge win.
Mickey & Minnie Meeting Together – According to Walt Disney World: “Meet Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse together at Town Square Theater.” Last year, both Minnie and Mickey Mouse received all-new costumes, featuring a neon spider web design. Now, Minnie Mouse will move from Storybook Circus to Town Square so the dynamic duo can greet guests together for the first time in a long time.
Jack Skellington’s New Head – Walt Disney World has revealed a new look for Jack Skellington for the 2025 Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. The character will have a new, articulated head at his meet & greet with Sally, replacing the cut-out mouth and rubber hat previously worn by the performer. This is a lovely glow-up, albeit one that spike wait times for what’s already the most popular meet & greet at MNSSHP.
Hopefully this is not an exhaustive list of the changes. Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party feels stale and tired for many repeat visitors. The problem, of course, is that the special event continues to sell out every day, every year. There’s little incentive to change anything, especially since the target demographic is first-timers, for whom everything is brand-new.
2025 Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party Merchandise
According to Walt Disney World, this year’s Not-So-Scary Spirit Jersey is a boo-tiful addition to your collection, featuring flying bats and a fun ghoulish Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse graphic on the back. It’s a perfect momen-tomb to take home in remembrance of your night of play. (I take no credit for these painful puns…but I do enjoy them a bit too much.)
I’d hazard a guess that 0.0% of you come to this blog for my fashion insights, but I’ll nevertheless share that, as far as Spirit Jerseys go, this is a satisfactory style. A lot going on, but it mostly works. I like the art style.
Your favorite graveyard diggers are dying to follow you home … on the back of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party glow in the dark tee! With a ghoulish glow mixed with Disney magic, this is the perfect item to add to your closet …if you dare.
As an avid backpack wearer, I prefer graphics on the front of shirts. Regardless, this looks cool. Love to see the gravediggers getting some love.
This Loungefly backpack will definitely put a spell on you and anyone who sees it! With Mickey Mouse in his Halloween best, plenty of space for all your trick-or-trinkets, and the cutest pumpkin coin purse attachment, it’s the ultimate functional-yet-frightful fashion piece to accompany you on your Not-So-Scary adventure …if you dare.
For years, Sarah has collected plush purses from Tokyo Disney Resort. They’re cute, I guess, but the thing I’ve never understood is why they’re so small–just slightly undersized for an average smart phone. Loungeflys take that impracticality and say, “hold my beer.” They’re small, clunky, and strike me as unsuitable for Florida weather. But I am about as far from the target audience as possible, so who cares what I think.
That’s not all! Perfect for your favorite fall beverages, you’ll also want to sip in spooky style with this year’s Halloween Tervis tumbler and a fang-tastic mug complete with bat wings that’s sure to fly off the shelves.
If you’re a collector at heart, the “Hocus Pocus”-themed pin is the souvenir for you. And don’t miss the Boo-To-You picture frame – the perfect way to display your Not-So-Scary memories all season long …IF YOU DARE!
Now they’re speaking my language. At the risk of being a huge hypocrite, I love the completely impractical coffee mug with the absurd wings. I’ll probably pick that up so long as it’s dishwasher safe (and it probably won’t be, as that makes it $0.03 more to manufacture). I also like the Tervis, which is the best water cup brand on the market. I’m also a big fan of that picture frame style–hopefully it’s a magnet.
Looking for spooky keepsakes that will last a lifetime? Haunted Mansion fans will love bringing a touch of Halloween cheer to their holiday décor with these festive ornaments. And don’t forget the postcards; They’re the best way to share your howling good time with loved ones near and far.
These items are exclusive to party guests, so be sure to get your tickets now and come ready to shop this spooky season. My hope is that there’s also a free party favor, like the posters and ornaments they’ve done in the past. That’s a really nice touch, and takes the sting out of the ~$200 ticket prices just a bit.
