Perth posted its highest June average daily rate (ADR) and revenue per available room (RevPAR) on record, driven by sporting events and concerts, according to preliminary data from CoStar.

Hotel occupancy was its highest for the month of June since 2015 at 77.7% for the month, up 8.6% year-over-year, with ADR at AU$232.56 (+11.8%) and RevPAR coming in at AU$180.64 (+21.4%).

On July 18, State of Origin Game II saw the New South Wales Blues face the Queensland Maroons at Perth’s Optus Stadium, driving the highest daily levels in each of the three key performance metrics: occupancy (93.6%), ADR (AU$318.02) and RevPAR (AU$297.63).

Perth also hosted two concerts of Katy Perry’s “The Lifetimes Tour” at the RAC Arena. On 23 June, occupancy reached 81%, and ADR and RevPAR hit AU$226.79 and AU$183.59, respectively.

“Overall, the market’s occupancy remained above the 70% mark throughout on all but four days,” according to CoStar.
