Now open in Onehunga, The Springs Tavern is Auckland’s newest neighbourhood tavern and social hub. An easy stroll from Go Media Stadium and Te Papapa train station, it’s designed for mates, families and after-work catch-ups.
Inside, the main bar hums with live-sport screens, relaxed seating and lofty timber-and-brick warmth. A hand-painted mural by celebrated New Zealand artist Hayley Brown, inspired by the local landscape, anchors the room and ties the space together.
Community Hub
The main bar opens out to a sun-drenched, fully enclosed courtyard – ideal for after work drinks and family outings year-round. The dog friendly space is layered with greenery and features a sandpit for the children, making it the perfect spot for the whole community.
Cold beers, cocktails and a well-curated wine list lead the way, backed by a menu that keeps things simple, shareable and tasty.
Expect modern pub fare with crowd-pleasing twists – think stone-baked pizzas, beer-battered fish & chips and lamb shoulder tacos. Share it, snack it or settle in for something more substantial – everything is designed to be social, seasonal and easy to love. There’s a kids’ menu too, featuring mini classics and family friendly favourites, perfectly portioned for little appetites.
Game Day Sporting Base
On game days, The Springs Tavern is both a viewing spot and base. Stay for live sport on the big screens or arrive pre-event for pints and plates, take the short stadium walk, and return after the final whistle.
“Onehunga has such a strong community spirit and The Springs Tavern is about adding to that,” says Venue Manager Claire Wilkinson. “We’ve created a space where people can come together for a meal, a match, a catch-up and everything in-between.”
