This list of open & closed restaurants at Walt Disney World covers what’s operating in Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and resort hotels. We update this regularly, with info on what’s coming soon, newly reopened, temporarily closing, and more. (Updated March 12, 2025.)

The good news is that the vast majority of noteworthy dining options at Walt Disney World have now reopened following the multi-month closure of the parks. As would be expected, given that was 5 years ago! That includes Signature Restaurants, hidden gem counter service spots, buffets, and the vast majority of character dining experiences.

This list was born of the phased reopening, and largely had outlived its useful with normalcy returning to restaurants over the course of the last two years. Everything has been largely back to business as usual for a while. There are no longer staffing shortages at the restaurants, capacity has increased, and reservations are mostly easy once again. That’s good news for those trying to score Advance Dining Reservations (ADRs) or walk-up availability.

Some ADRs are still elusive, especially for larger parties. As such, it’s recommended that you book bright and early 60 days beforehand–and even that might not be good enough. These include Story Book Dining at Artist Point, Toy Story Roundup Rodeo BBQ, Space 220 Restaurant, California Grill, and a handful of other locations.

If you don’t make ADRs that far in advance, check out our Top 10 Tips for Difficult ADRs at Walt Disney World. With the exception of new or newly-reopened restaurants, we make the vast majority of our ADRs only a few days in advance (or even the same-day). This covers some of our hacks for reserving restaurants on shorter notice.

In more “mixed” news, the Disney Dining Plan is back for 2025. This is great for Walt Disney World fans who love that pre-paid meal plan, but it also increases demand for table service restaurants. The positive of this is that it could be another catalyst for Walt Disney World to restore missing meal services or bring back some of the remaining restaurants that are still closed.

With that out of the way, let’s start with some other updates as of March 2025…

Closing Soon

  • Aunt Polly’s Dockside Inn – Permanently closing in 2025
  • Dino-Bite Snacks – Permanently closing in January 2026
  • Jellyrolls – Permanently closing on April 19, 2025
  • Restaurantosaurus – Permanently closing in January 2026
  • Sebastian’s Bistro – Closed for refurbishment starting March 24, 2025
  • Trilo-Bites – Permanently closing in January 2026
  • Whispering Canyon Cafe – Closed for refurbishment from May 12 through May 21, 2025

Let’s start with Aunt Polly’s, the walk-up quick service window on Tom Sawyer Island in Magic Kingdom. This has not operated since 2019 (you’ll spot it on another list below) and has been seasonal for decades, only opening for a few peak weeks per year. In all likelihood, it won’t reopen ever again–unless it’s for a final farewell–as Tom Sawyer Island is being razed and replaced by Cars Land. That project is expected to begin later in 2025 or in early 2026.

It’s a similar story with Restaurantosaurus, Dino-Bite Snacks, and Trilo-Bites in DinoLand USA. Walt Disney World recently announced these locations would remain open “throughout” 2025, which suggests they will close in early 2026 alongside DINOSAUR and the rest of the land. There is always the possibility that, due to lack of demand or foot traffic, one or more of these locations will quietly close earlier or go seasonal and just be open during busier dates.

Another permanent closing is Jellyrolls dueling piano bar, an opening day staple at Disney’s BoardWalk. The third party operator of Jellyrolls indicated that the nightlife locale would close after the busy spring break season at Walt Disney World. It’s expected to reopen somewhere off-site where rents are cheaper.

Finally, there are two temporary closures of Sebastian’s Bistro at Caribbean Beach Resort and Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge. Both of these are routine refurbishments of an undisclosed nature. Our hope is that Sebastian’s Bistro will get a bit more colorful decor on the interior of the restaurant and maybe a few menu enhancements.

Our fear is that Whispering Canyon Cafe will be stripped of some of its personality. For those who are unfamiliar with it, this lobby level restaurant in Wilderness Lodge is an Old Western eatery for games and good eatin’ served with attitude.

It’s styled like a log-cabin lodge with rough-hewn charm and colorfully named Cast Members who have a reputation for sassing customers. Those are Disney’s own words used to describe Whispering Canyon Cafe. It also has a Cowboy and Native Americans visual motif, and we could see some of that being removed.

Whispering Canyon Cafe has been controversial over the years among Walt Disney World fans. As suggested above, it’s known for its hilarity and hijinks, with fun servers and guest interactivity that make for a raucous restaurant. Some guests do not like this. Many don’t know what they’re in for before dining at Whispering Canyon Cafe, and don’t like the server sass.

As a result, Whispering Canyon Cafe tested red/green cards providing guests the ability to signal whether they wanted to participate in the fun a few years ago. The restaurant also toned down some of the louder elements of the script, as the sound carries throughout the lobby and, equally important, through into the guest rooms located above the restaurant.

Whispering Canyon Cafe’s refurbishment could be routine and uneventful, having no impact on the look and vibe of the restaurant. Best case is that they’re adding insulation or sound dampening features to allow it to be even more raucous. Worst case is that the interior will have some of its themed design elements removed and replaced.

Optimistically, I’m somewhat skeptical of the latter happening, as so much of that could be swapped out overnight without the need for any refurbishment. We shall see what happens and keep you posted!

Coming Soon

Recently Opened

Permanently Closed

  • ESPN Club (BoardWalk)
  • Big River Grille & Brewing Works (BoardWalk)
  • Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show (Polynesian)

Current Closures

Magic Kingdom

  • Aunt Polly’s Dockside Inn
  • Tomorrowland Terrace
  • Tortuga Tavern

Both of these have been seasonal for the last decade-plus, but neither have operated at all in the last 4 years. Normally, these would open for the weeks around peak season dates. That could happen for Spring Break 2025, but we’d be surprised. The week between Christmas and New Year’s Eve is more likely, but even that’s a stretch. In all likelihood, Aunt Polly’s Dockside Inn will never reopen, as Tom Sawyer Island will soon be replaced by Cars Land.

EPCOT

Located deep in World Showcase’s Morocco pavilion, Restaurant Marrakesh is used as a free lounge during both VIPASSHOLDER Days and the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival. Realistically, it probably won’t open until late 2025 and maybe not even then.

Our expectation is that, whenever it does return, it’ll be a different concept. Disney took ownership of the Morocco pavilion a few years ago, and has quietly changed a lot since then. Turning this into Aladdin character dining to increase its popularity makes too much sense for Walt Disney World not to do it.

Resort Restaurants

  • Garden View Tea Room (Grand Floridian)

Grand Floridian is currently in the midst of a large-scale reimagining, and this is expected to encompass the Garden View Tea Room. That project has now moved into the main building, with work being done on the lobby. As such, we do not expect Garden View Tea Room to return until at least Summer 2025. That’s the earliest, as this project has had a lot of starts and stops.

Missing Meals

  • Be Our Guest Restaurant – Breakfast
  • Be Our Guest Restaurant – Counter Service Lunch
  • Brunch at California Grill
  • Plaza Restaurant – Breakfast
  • Trattoria al Forno – Bon Voyage Character Breakfast

Be Our Guest Restaurant is still doing its prix fixe dinner rather than 3 distinct meals. However, its popularity has decreased dramatically, so we’re optimistic that it might return to normal at some point in 2025.

While open, Trattoria al Forno is doing a standard breakfast rather than its Bon Voyage Character Dining Experience. The major impediment to this returning and other character meals extending their hours is (still) staffing shortages. Fortunately, Cast Member morale is starting to improve and turnover is decreasing, so Walt Disney World should finally be able to hire and retain enough Cast Members to restore operational normalcy.

This is also why, for example, breakfast has been so slow to return to restaurants all around Walt Disney World. There’s more than enough demand to sell out of ADRs for all three meals well in advance–Disney is not voluntarily leaving money on the table; they don’t have enough Cast Members to work the shifts necessary to open for breakfast and lunch.

With all of that out of the way, here are the restaurants that are open at Walt Disney World…
