Pan Pacific Perth has appointed veteran hotelier Rens Breur as General Manager, ahead of the reveal of a AU$50 million hotel transformation next month.

Breur brings over 30 years of global hospitality experience from renowned hotel brands, including Relais & Châteaux, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Langham Hotels, and Accor/Sofitel Group across North America, Europe, Middle East, Asia and Australia.

“It’s an honour to lead the team at Pan Pacific Perth at such a defining moment,” said Rens Breur.

“This transformation represents more than a renovation—it signals the beginning of a new chapter for one of Perth’s most iconic landmark hotels.

“With reimagined guestrooms, the city’s largest hotel event space, and a commitment to sustainable luxury woven throughout, we’re focused on delivering what meaningful hospitality and service excellence looks like today.

“I’m inspired by the team’s dedication and look forward to welcoming guests as we unveil this exciting new era in May.”

A recognisable figure in the Australian hospitality landscape, Rens has held senior leadership roles at The Langham Melbourne, Sofitel Gold Coast Broadbeach, and was part of the launch team for Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour in 2017.

Most recently, he served as Managing Director, Hotel Operations and Development at Fine Hotels in The Netherlands, where he oversaw a portfolio of six properties with extensive F&B and MICE operations.

Pan Pacific Hotels Group Country General Manager, Oceania, David Tonkin, said his experience will be invaluable to the Perth hotel.

“We’re delighted to welcome Rens to the Pan Pacific Perth family,” said Tonkin.

“His extensive international experience, paired with a deep understanding of the Australian market, makes him the ideal leader to guide the hotel into its next chapter as we elevate our positioning in Perth and across the country.”
